Warning: extreme cuteness ahead.
The Ridgeland Fair is almost here! We’re in the countdown of the last few days, getting the store ready and working with EB Ranch Farmstead on a collaborative float for the parade.
A few weeks ago, a little girl named Ali asked us to sponsor her in the Miss Ridgeland pageant. Well, of course! The pageant was on Saturday evening. There are three age categories, and Ali is in the youngest. Each girl is sponsored by a local business and creates a short presentation about her sponsor.
What I really loved about the Ridgeland pageant is that every part was very age-appropriate. Ali made a poster about Four Harvest and explained that we are a store that brings farm products together, so it’s easy to buy from farms. That’s it! That’s a perfect presentation for a child in elementary school! The girls in her youngest age group were also asked questions such as “What is your favorite color?” It was all really well done; the emcee was kind and compassionate, and it was a fabulous community evening. Another highlight must be mentioned: Natalie, subsequently crowned Junior Miss Ridgeland, led the audience in a call-and-response song about the business that sponsored her. I never would have been so brave at her age.
At the end of the evening, Ali became the 2023-2024 Little Miss Ridgeland Princess. She got a sash, a tiara, and a bouquet and was so proud of herself. We’re proud of her, too, and look forward to framing her poster to be displayed in the Four Harvest store.
